Workshop is a desktop GUI application that unlocks your company’s information assets through enterprise-level metadata and business semantic management. Used by system architects, IT Managers, Taxonomists, System Administrators and power users to import, model, rationalize, and manage the synchronization of metadata models, schemas and business semantics with other applications and systems in your organization. Workshop is a Java application deployed using Java Web Start technology to facilitate easy deployment and updates with much the same ease as managing and maintaining any website. Users install Workshop by navigating to a web URL, where all software is cached to their local machine, with a compatible version of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Web Access ClientWorkshop Web provides a light weight user interface for Business Semantics consumers (subject matter experts, domain experts, business users, etc.) who do not require the robust modeling features offered for information architects, data modelers, and taxonomists. The Business Semantic consumer can now utilize a web-based interface to search, view, manage, collaborate and govern the semantic standard at a business level (e.g. Documentation Specialists provide input on new document classifications required for content management, Pharmaceutical scientist provides input on the classification of new drugs, etc.). Semantic metadata is a business asset in the same way that CRM, order processing, supply chain, and accounting data are within the enterprise. To drive business objectives, Business Semantic consumers require a user interface that is intuitive and easily accessible.
