MetaPoint Server MetaPoint Server provides a centralized metadata management repository that supports the creation and management of a Master Metadata Model. MetaPoint Studio is the client for MetaPoint Server and enables SharePoint administrators to model and manage the metadata used within SharePoint, as well the vocabularies and terminology used within the corporation. MetaPoint Server synchronizes the metadata model and tagging vocabularies with MetaPoint Desktop and SharePoint to ensure that all deployed desktops have consistent vocabularies linked to the corporate standard.
MetaPoint Server is easily deployed and allows the system administrator to:
- Define, model and manage a metadata model that can be shared across teams, departments or the entire enterprise
- Synchronize either all or part of the metadata model and tagging vocabulary with target SharePoint sites as well as desktop systems
- Continuously model compliance of the SharePoint deployment with the corporate standards
MetaPoint Server:
- Enables the creation and maintenance of a corporate taxonomy model for the enterprise
- Supports rich modeling requirements for a complete semantic model
- Enables the creation and management of centralized, structured metadata model for SharePoint

- Provides controls for changes to SharePoint metadata via a flexible change control system

MetaPoint Agent:
The MetaPoint Agent Service resides on each SharePoint farm and provides the communication channel for crawling existing SharePoint data and provisioning SharePoint metadata updates.
