MetaPoint Desktop is a Microsoft Office Add-In that can be installed on any desktop running Microsoft Office. MetaPoint Desktop can communicate to either MetaPoint Server or SchemaServer to receive and synchronize tagging vocabularies as well as SharePoint Content Type definitions and Site Column assignments.
MetaPoint Desktop recognizes and applies keywords and tags as a document is being written, and suggests or assigns Content Types and Document Libraries.
The tight integration with Office Suite enables either an automatic and invisible end user experience, or an easy-to-use, interactive Action Panel option for metadata tagging of content.
MetaPoint Desktop includes the MetaPoint Publishing Queue that provides SharePoint check-in capability for tagging all types (email, PDF, Visio, etc) of existing content, resolving possible tag issues and publishing content directly to the correct SharePoint Document Library.
