Kirkland, Washington – July 16, 2007 – SchemaLogic, leading provider of Business Semantics Management solutions for the enterprise, today announced its Series C financing of $12.7 million, led by new investor Goldman Sachs. The new round also included Artis Capital as well as participation from previous investors Madrona Venture Group, Phoenix Partners and Trevor Traina, the company’s co-founder and Chairman. The investment will bolster worldwide sales and marketing efforts to support the company’s rapid growth and the ever-increasing demand for enterprise collaboration, semantics management, data categorization, and enterprise search.

SchemaLogic is an information management company specializing in Business Semantics Management, enabling Global 5000 companies to better leverage their corporate information assets for competitive advantage. Unlike search, auto-classification, or content management solutions, SchemaLogic provides the ability to build a common language to describe corporate information. This enterprise language, or Semantic, unifies corporate information management systems, enabling employees to find everything about a subject no matter how it has been described.

“We have seen significant growth in our customer base throughout the past year,” said Jeff Dirks, president and CEO of SchemaLogic. “Our customers operate information intensive businesses that rely on SchemaLogic to help them optimize information access and distribution of content. These resources will help us extend our marketing and sales outreach globally to meet specific growth goals in key markets. ”

SchemaLogic has built a growing portfolio of customers, including 10 of the Fortune 50, who rely on SchemaLogic’s enterprise software to manage information across their global enterprises.

“Regardless of industry, every corporation today has substantial business value within its digital assets. Business Semantics Management allows enterprises to build strategic business solutions from these assets by providing consistent, global information access.” said David Campbell, vice president, Principal Investments Area at Goldman Sachs, who will take a seat on SchemaLogic’s board. “SchemaLogic has shown technology and market leadership, together with a compelling vision for the future. We recognize the strength of the company’s business model, and management team.”

”In finding a new investor, we felt it was critical to select a firm that has the global reach to allow SchemaLogic to achieve our vision of establishing Business Semantics Management as a required service for information and content exchange,” said Trevor Traina, chairman of the board and co-founder.  “Goldman Sachs has the financial strength, brand recognition, strategic vision, and industry presence to help us achieve this vision.”
