Position Summary
We are looking for high-energy, professional consultants to work with a variety of customers in the design and deployment of enterprise solutions utilizing SchemaLogic’s Enterprise Suite (SES), Metadata Management Software for Unstructured Content. SES is a critical part of an enterprise’s content infrastructure allowing companies to find, use and protect unstructured content across multiple repositories (such as SharePoint and Documentum) by employing metadata management in the content lifecycle.
This position requires an individual who has specialized skills in information architecture and taxonomy, metadata, thesauri, and controlled vocabulary development. The ideal candidate will have specific experience in the design, development and implementation of taxonomies for Enterprise Content Management (ECM) or Enterprise Search systems. Teamed with a Technical Account Manager, the Consultant will work directly with customers in performing taxonomy/metadata assessments, defining business requirements, developing metadata models / metadata strategies, defining governance work-flows, designing customizations, and configuration of SchemaLogic’s Enterprise Suite.
This position requires excellent communication and writing skills as well as previous experience as an information architect or corporate taxonomist.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the sales team on pre-sales opportunities qualifying potential customers and work to define initial data models / use cases for Proof of Concept engagements.
- Work a variety of customer engagements (pre and post sales) providing product and implementation expertise / proficiency in the SchemaLogic toolset and capabilities of the SchemaLogic solution
- Design, map and evaluate taxonomies; developing enterprise data models / metadata schemas for ECM and Enterprise Search systems
- Develop metadata and taxonomy governance / compliance models, procedures, and policies
- Conduct taxonomy / metadata audits and assessments
- Conducting requirements gathering end-user analysis / develop use cases and process mappings Manage / work with multiple engagements simultaneously
- Lead and conduct interactive design sessions / modeling workshops
- Working directly with cross-functional teams and customers in delivering customizations, integrations or data migrations
- Conduct training on SchemaLogic Enterprise Suite for customers
Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree in Information/Library Science or equivalent work experience
- Proven leadership and project management skills
- 5 plus years experience with taxonomy, metadata, thesauri, controlled vocabularies and file plan / classification development for ECM
- Strong analytical skills
- Self-starter that can work independently
- Enterprise consulting or software sales experience
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Previous consulting or professional services experience
- Strong knowledge of DTDs, XML, and taxonomy standards (including ANSI/NISO Z39-19)
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Prior experience in Enterprise Search, Content Management, Auto Classification, Information Retrieval systems such as Sharepoint 2007, Documentum, OpenText, Vignette, FAST, Autonomy, etc.
- Prior experience with enterprise software or systems integration firm
- Prior experience in Life Sciences or Oil and Gas domains
- Familiarity with ER modeling tools and Database Design
- Strong knowledge of RDF/OWL and UML
- Familiarity with programming languages and concepts
