SchemaLogic Announces Solution to Tag and Manage Content for Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office SharePoint Users

SchemaLogic Demonstrates Office Metadata Management and Tagging Solution at Drug Information Association Conference

Drug Information Association Electronic Document Management Conference, Booth 206, February 9th, 2009

SchemaLogic, a leading provider of metadata management software for unstructured content, has teamed with Microsoft Corp. to demonstrate a content tagging and classification solution based on integration between SchemaLogic’s MetaPointTM software and Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server software.  MetaPoint provides enterprise metadata management and document tagging capability, allowing companies to simplify and automate the content lifecycle from the point of creation in Office to the back-end repositories in SharePoint Server.

Enterprise employees create business critical information in Microsoft Office applications every day.  For this information to be shared, maintained and governed it must be tagged, classified and stored consistently across the company.  “MetaPoint integrates with Microsoft Office applications (such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) to tag and classify documents automatically when they are created and suggests to the user where documents should be stored in SharePoint Server”, said Jeff Dirks, SchemaLogic President and CEO, “Our MetaPoint product helps employees find and share information more effectively while improving corporate information governance and regulatory compliance”

“Life sciences companies are faced with an overwhelming amount of unstructured data that ultimately needs to be managed in a way to drive business insight,” said Michael Naimoli, U.S. life sciences industry solutions director, Microsoft Corp. “We are pleased to work with SchemaLogic to provide vertically relevant solutions built on the familiar, easy-to-use and widely supported Microsoft Office SharePoint Server platform – helping our enterprise customers meet strict information compliance requirements while deploying a cost-effective information management system.”

SchemaLogic is demonstrating its solution built on the Microsoft platform in the Microsoft booth at the Drug Information Association (DIA) Electronic Content Management (ECM) conference this week in Philadelphia, PA in response to strong interest from Life Science and Pharmaceutical Companies who require the ability to manage large amounts of research information from early-stage discovery and clinical trials to FDA submission and manufacturing.
